St Augustine's is Proud to Announce the Official Opening of its New Early Years Foundation Stage Building

The building was opened by the mayor in May 2010 and the nursery and reception children all enjoyed their picnic to celebrate. Click on the photos below to see larger ones!

Sport is a vital part of everyday life. It keeps us fit and healthy but most importantly it is enjoyable.

Here at St. Augustine’s we are very lucky to have the opportunity to play and try a wealth of different sports, both during and after school, as well as having sports links with various clubs.

We have 1 to 2 hours of physical education each week. This ranges from gymnastics, to dance, to hockey, netball, football, rounders, athletics and swimming.

We also have a lunch time tennis club set up once a week, as well as lunch time meditation sessions once a week.

This year we have been very lucky to have Saracens rugby club take different years in the school and we had a professional Saracens rugby player visit the school. We are once again fortunate to have Watford football club take sessions every Wednesday from Year 1 to Year 6 during the whole of the school year.

After school, for Years 3 to 6, there is a netball club, a football club and in the summer an athletics club.

Our school also has sports links with clubs, so you are able to improve your skills even further outside of school.

So make sure you are involved with sport, make sure you are fit and healthy and make sure you are enjoying what you do!!

Dylan Gaynor in Year 5 is an excellent netball player. The first picture shows him being presented with a Turnford netball trophy for outstanding achievement in the U9 age group this year. The second picture is him receiving a medal for winning a tournament and a team trophy for winning the High Five league in June 2008.

Dylan continues to enjoy netball. He has also been picked to play for the U10's in a netball tournament in Thurrock in October 2008, as well as playing netball after school.

This is a photograph of the Turnford netball team which won the High Five league in June 2008. This team included three St Augustine’s pupils:

Louisa Moore
Dylan Gaynor
Olivia Hayes
Dylan Gaynor also won player of the year.

St. Augustine’s school has a netball club link with Turnford netball club. They are a great club and our school works together with them to give our pupils the best opportunities, skills and enjoyment in netball. If you are interested in joining netball club, make sure you ask Miss Kousoulou for information. You can also visit their website. http://www.turnfordnetballclub.net/
