School Meals
Our school meals are freshly prepared and cooked on site every day by award winning Hertfordshire Catering Ltd (HCL). Our kitchen was awarded 5 ***** hygiene rating in April 2019. They offer one meat option, one vegetarian option and a cold packed lunch opotion(Summer Term). 85% of the food is freshly prepared, with 50/50 bread baked daily, daily fresh fruit and salad bar, a pudding of the day plus additional choices including yoghurt. They use green grocers and butchers and have been awarded a Silver Soil Association award for offering ethical, environmentally friendly, healthier meals using locally sourced ingredients. The menu operates on a three weekly rota and copies are available from the school office.
Under new government legislation, Reception and KS1 children from September 2014 will be entitled to a free school meal. The costs of meals for KS2 children are £3.05. Parents may pay for school meals weekly or half termly. We are a cashless school all payements should be made online.
Children who do not want school meals may bring their own packed lunch. They eat with their friends who are having a school meal and are supervised in the same way.
