St. Augustine's School - Admission information

St. Augustine’s is a Catholic school serving the Catholic community of Hoddesdon and surrounding villages. We welcome applications from all faiths as well as none, which ensures we remain a dynamic and vibrant community.

Our school is a Voluntary-Aided School, which means the Governors have responsibility for admissions to the school. In order to apply for a place in our Reception class, you will need to complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) in addition to the standard application form from Hertfordshire County Council.  You can download the Supplementary Information form below, and once completed, should be returned to the School Office by the closing date of application in the academic year prior to the child starting Reception.

Reception Class Admissions 2023-2024

We welcome applications to our School Reception class starting September 2023. This process is for children who were born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019.

The application process opens on 1st November 2022.  Please complete our supplementary information form and return to the school office by 15th January 2023.

Applications open: 1st November 2022

Closing date: 15th January 2023

Allocation day: 17th April 2023

You must also apply online at Hertfordshire Admissions www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions and complete the schoo SIF form;

Nursery Admissions 2023-2024

We welcome applications to our Nursery starting September 2023. This process is for children who were born between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020.

Closing date: 27th February 2023

Allocation Day: 17th March 2023

Nursery Admission Arrangements

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE INFORMATION CONTAINED HERE IS PART OF A LIVE DOCUMENT.

The school has one intake which is the September following a child’s third birthday. There are two Nursery sessions each day - morning and afternoon, plus our Extended Offer, with a maximum of 30 children in each session.

Allocation of a Nursery place is strictly subject to the applicant’s guarantee that the first 15 hours of Free Childcare Funding will be directed to this school. This guarantee should be made on the Parent Declaration Form.

Core Offer- 15 Hours Provision

All pupils are entitled to our core offer of 15 hours provision and will be given either five morning or five afternoon sessions per week as is available each school year. Parents can state a preference but the decision whether to offer a morning or afternoon session lies with the school and is made after careful consideration of all factors.

Session times: Morning: 08.40-11.40 (15 hours per week)

Extended Offer- 30 Hours Provision

In addition, if you are eligible for the Government 30 hours free childcare we will be offering this, subject to availability. Places will be limited and allocated according to our admissions criteria. Please note that the 6 daily hours cannot be split.

If you are not eligible for the Government 30 hours free childcare, but would like to pay to extend your core offer of 15 hours to 30 hours per week, there will be a charge of £90 for the school week. Places are subject to availability and will be allocated according to our admissions criteria. Any paid places must be paid a term in advance before the close of school term, in full and are non-refundable. Please note that the 6 daily hours cannot be split. Parents must provide half a terms notice if they wish to make changes to their paid place.  

Session Times for the ‘Extended Offer’

08.40-14.40 (30 hours per week)

Parents will need to provide a daily packed lunch for their child.

Fees

Please note that all fees are payable in advance termly. Refunds will not be provided.

In Year Admission

You will need to apply online via Hertforshire County Council - www.hertfordshire.gov.uk and directly to our school, completing and returning the school application form to the School Office (a copy is available to download below).
